Cass Hothouse, enabling dialogue between design education and industry

Posted

The Cass Hothouse is a live design and editorial studio taking place within The Cass Summer Show 2015 at Sir John Cass Faculty of Art, Architecture and Design, London Metropolitan University.

It is an initiative that enables dialogue between design education and industry. In its inaugural year, students from BA Illustration and BA Graphic Design visited four leading design studios in London: Colophon Foundry/The Entente, Kin, Nous Vous and SomeOne. The group is using their experiences as a springboard for thinking, talking about and making design. Students, educators, clients and practitioners are all invited to join in the conversation on the Hothouse blog and within the Hothouse space at the Cass Summer Show.

Someone

I am delighted to be involved in Cass Hothouse as a visiting lecturer focusing on demystifying branding and visual identity design. As part of the Hothouse I’ll be running a workshop session inviting participants to respond to a live brief set by SomeOne, one of London’s leading design practices. The workshop will see us developing brand assets for SomeOne’s client Cancer Research. Building on the award-winning work done by the design studio, our aim will be to use design to start conversations relating to five given themes.
